30 years of the internet - but the best is yet to come

The Internet, the most disruptive technology of our times, quietly marked its 30th Birthday on New Year’s Day. Vint Cerf, widely regarded as one of its founding fathers, speaks about it over on Google’s official blog

Despite reaching 30 and having already achieved a fair bit in life, far from settling down, Gary Marshall at Tech Radar reckons we ain’t seen nothing yet from the web, and strikes a cautionary note that it might not be all sunshine and lollipops going forward, whilst Matt Warman at the Telegraph looks at the three big trends that will shape its future.

So let’s all wish it a very Happy Birthday, and many happy returns, yeah? Hip hip, hooray and all that.
